This was made as a Christmas present, it's the recipient's parents, painted from a small, slightly blurry photograph. I wanted to take what was a tiny, mildly mundane, uneventful photo and make it into something artistic, eye catching and memorable. Something to be hung on a wall and not just glanced at in a scrapbook.

It was a challenge at times, working with such a poor reference image, but I think I managed to not lose their likenesses in the translation. And the recipient was very happy with it, and that's what's most important.
